This park is very quiet, after having had the guy singing outside our van last night, and quite a range of campers, vans and accomodation options. The most interesting are these Modnpods, lifted into place by a helicopter, which I’m hoping to witness today, as more have arrived on semis.
Off we went out to Nitmiluk National Park, to check out the scenery, but we were greeted by hundreds of bats, in the trees outside the deck of the centre.
We finally had a good strong coffee, a cheesecake slice each, walk thru the ‘museum’ and asked about the cruises.
Missed out today but bagged a 2hr cruise tomorrow at 2pm.
Took a look at the boat ramp/dock and got a pic… yep… looks like croc-infested water to me!
Off to the hot springs, closer to town on the Victoria Highway. A bit of a step down though, which I dread walking Up every time..
What a beautiful spot. Shady, clear water and sorta peaceful (a couple of boys being fools) so I stepped down to second step, cooled my feet, took a pic.
Then up these bastards….
Just had some lunch back at van, got laundry ready to hang out, which will dry quick as it’s 31C.
I noticed some young kids setting up a table at reception, under veranda, then noticed a van with stickers saying Checking Out Oz, put 2 and 2 together , these kids and parents (duh) are travelling full time, and are making jewellery to sell. So today, after getting washing sorted out, I got a little bracelet made for my doll 😁 Such industrious kids, they brought it to our van, admired my doll and thanked me, very nicely, for supporting them. Check out their Facebook page, quite interesting.
