9. Nice to visit, wouldn’t live here…

The warmth has almost beaten me. Going from 14C to 33C in a matter of days is a bit too much.
My sleep was broken last night, if not by aching back and hips, it was Husband, tossing and turning.
Finally got to town to send some postcards, to daughters friends, as I feel the daughter and son wouldn’t  care if they got any.
We had a coffee and carrot cake at The Coffee Club, which was a popular spot with the nomads.
Had a quick stop at the hunting/fishing shop, for a shot of the crocodile. It will prob be the only one I see here, albeit a plastic one.

Off back to Nitmiluk NP for a river cruise, soon, so hoping i get a seat, or I’ll fall overboard, it’d be my luck 🤦🏻‍♀️
Well, what an afternoon!
We got to Nitmiluk at 1, had an icecream under the shady trees, listening to the bat plague squeaking, until time to board the ‘cruise boat’

James was our tour leader/captain, had some  good jokes, told us of the jawoyn (sounds same as Darwin but ‘spelled differently) indigenous culture etc.
we had to disembark to cross rocks to get to second gorge, trying not to slip over. Beautiful scenery, not really peaceful though, as some old dude thought he phone someone got a chat ffs!

Jawoyn rock art (10,000 yrs old?)
We enjoyed the two hours, but will be glad for a shower , food and sleep.
Glad it’s our last night , just sent Bruce into Woollies. I went in with him the other day and I’ve never encountered so many rude and bad mannered people, in one shop, EVER.
Off to Darwin tomorrow, thank God.
