Bauhinia, at van park, on our way out.
First stop was Pine Creek, where coffee still not strong yet $6.50 (med to lge cup)
and met with the Great Aussie Adventure Jayco campervans. They’re on their last leg of a 19 day tour, from Melbourne to Darwin. Met a nice chatty couple from Bendigo!
We’ll be at Adelaide River soon, it’s now 29C, the landscape has altered to bigger anthills and more palm trees spread through the bush. It’s also hilly here, so the Hilux is chewing thru the fuel. I’ve seen three live kangaroos on this trip, way too many small sized rock kangaroos have been hit by cars etc ☹️
I’ve got a sore neck today, from all the rubbernecking at the gorge yesterday…
It’s midday and 32C now, just passed the road to Batchelor and Litchfield NP, which we toured last year. So far I can’t see any burning off smoke so hoping I don’t. Last year we had smoke the entire two weeks on holiday.
Yay! We made it! Arrived at 1pm, checked into Winnellie’s Discovery Park, set up quickly and eating lunch at 2.
We’ll be off to reconnaissance the shooting range, after we buy a couple of things we need.
Bloody snake country and there’s guys camping in there. Husband says ‘yeah, knew you could camp here but you’d hate it’ …. Ya think??Anyways, we had to buy more tent prints as the ground is so hard, we couldn’t screw in the awning ones. Husband currently hammering away snd bending most of them 🙄
