The anthills are getting bigger the further we go. Can’t stop off side of road, rain made everything soggy
8am and 22C already, hello summer
10.15am 26C
Stopped on side of road, full bladder, to see all this rubbish that could have been taken to a bin in next town or whatever. It’s not even loo paper.
Typical, 3kms down the road, a bloody roadhouse π€¦π»♀️
Renner springs , run by Indians, could wash the glass on the door, accomodation looks to be ok though.
Quick snack and on our way, temp slowly warmer at 27C at 11am
Elliot ‘roadhouse’ 30C heaps of vans parked , hoping for nice food but could only buy bread and sliced meat so drove out the road 20ks and made sandwiches, with a breeze thru the van.
Made it to Daly Waters, around 2.30, got a van site set it up in 33C heat, got the air con blasting, but headed over to ‘Main Street’ where bogans abound, and that’s just the staff at the pub!
We did the $3 walk thru Tim carters junk shed, which turned out to be a treasure trove of antique and vintage cars and motorbikes! Beautiful paint work on each one, club regos, and lovely vinyl upholstery.
Short stroll over the dirt track to the pub, thru the bar (kept my BRA on) and got ourselves a coldie (JB & Cola for me) and we’ve been sitting here since 4pm. We’re waiting on bar meals to start (6pm) then we’ll be back to van for the night.
Omg the wait was worth it! HUGE steak sangas, with chips, another can, now I’m STUFFED.
Just had a quick van shower, Bruce has gone to the shower block coz he needs a shave and pamper π
It’s only 7.30pm and I’m ready for sleepy time.
Nope… just played three games of Yahtzee with the big cheating husband…
Tomorrow we’ll be heading to Katherine, for next three nights. Almost at Darwin ππ»
