Woke up to my Robot alarm at 6am, but it’s taken 2 hours for us to get our ‘shit’ together and get going.
The Big4 Stuart Range Resort was quiet enough, and it looks popular this morning, having almost filled our row with a variety of campers overnight.
Leaving Coober Pedy here’s the view
Just stopped at Marla, almost three hours driving and my butt is sore, so had a coffee, a snack and a walk in the ‘supermarket’. Prices are quite high, but it’s supply and demand out here.
On to the border now, for a quick photo and then to Alice.
The long drop absolutely stunk, great greeting at the border!
First snack in NT!
Accomodation at Kulgera… fuel is $2.60 p/l!
Time to make our lunch in the van, I reckon, if ham, cheese and pickles sandwiches…
Off we go at 2pm.
We are at Stuart’s Well, where it looks like a manky swamp. Poor old emu walking around looking for food 😠
Got an icecream so we could use the loos😳
Husband has done all the driving but I’m feeling rather tired, my eyes are dry and my neck hurts from looking for wildlife. We finally arrived at Discovery Park, AS, around 5.30, with a communication breakdown, some finagling the van into its spot, with spectators 🤨, we’re set up for the night.
We’ve done over 2000kms, only just over half way to Darwin 🤦🏻♀️
It’s 27C at 6.20pm, I’m wearing stupid exercise pants and a long sleeve T, need some food and I’m hitting the sack.
Here’s some quick snaps via the window, doing 90kph
